Avaya IP Office delivers full voice functionality
with a comprehensive set of features. The
system can be configured as a voice-only
PBX using traditional circuit-switched lines
or as an IP telephony server using high-speed
ISDN/PRI dial-up access and/or direct leased
line connectivity.
The Avaya IP406 V2 replaced the IP406 (V1)
on December 6th 2004. The IP406 V2 supports
6 Expansion Modules and includes 8 Digital
Station ports (DS) and 2 analog phone ports
on the base unit providing a combination
of up to 190 analog and digital extensions.
As the trunk interfaces can include a dual-PRI
in slot A, the IP406 V2 has built-in capacity
for 8 analog trunks or 3 digital trunks
(72 T1 channels or 90 E1 channels). Additional
analog trunks can be provisioned using the
IP400 Analog trunk 16 module. Features include
up to 30 optional voice compression channels,
8 port Layer 2 switch, and 40 data channels.
Data channels are used for Routing, RAS
and voicemail applications. The IP406 V2
includes a compact flash memory card socket
for optional embedded voicemail and auto
attendant. The serial port is changed to
a 9-pin serial port for PC-less licensing.
