Avaya S8700 Media Server brings all of the
robust performance and capabilities of Communication
Manager telephony software onto an industry
standard processor running and industry
standard operating system. The S8700 is
an ideal solution for large distributed
enterprises and high volume Contact Center
environments. The S8700 processes up to
300,000 Busy Hour Call Completions and support
up to 36,000 stations, 12,000 of which can
be IP stations, and 8,000 trunks, which
allow it to support larger multi-national
businesses and contact centers.
The Avaya S8700 Media Server
is a 19" rack mount, Intel Processor
based server, running the Linux operating
system. The Avaya S8700 Media Server with
Communication Manager provides a rock solid
foundation for a highly flexible converged
solution that meets a variety of telephony
needs. The Avaya S8700 Media Server uses
two processors to help ensure maximum up
time and the processors can be separated
up to 10 kilometers (6.3 miles) to help
ensure business continuity.
