The
Avaya SG200 Security Gateway is a VPN/firewall
device designed for branch office and small/mid-sized
enterprise deployments that require an integrated
security solution for advanced data and
Voice over IP (VoIP) applications.
The Avaya SG200 provides
two 10/100 Ethernet interfaces for easy
connectivity, a console port, an external
power supply, and an industry-standard CardBus/PCMCIA
slot for the optional addition of public
back-up interface.
An advanced Stateful MultiLayer
Inspection (SMLI) firewall features customizable
firewall templates to simplify configuration.
Built-in DoS attack protection mitigates
against common DoS service attack signatures
such as Ping of death, IP Spoofing, Smurf,
Tear Drop, WinNuke, and Buffer Overflow.
For IP telephony support an H.323 proxy
supports Voice over IP (VoIP) through the
firewall, while an integrated bandwidth
manager helps ensure that VoIP and other
criticial applications receive adequate
bandwidth support. The SG200 also functions
as a DHCP server that can provide configuration
information for IP phones.
The base Avaya SG200 unit,
which comes licensed to support 50 remote
access users and 25 site-to-site VPN connections,
integrates a hardware-based VPN acceleration
engine that allows for the addition of more
VPN capacity as needs grow. The Avaya SG200
can be easily expanded at any time in the
field with software license upgrades to
add capacity to a maximum of 500 remote
access VPN users or 150 site-to-site VPN
connections (maximum of 500 in total of
both remote access and site-to-site). |
